My 15 minutes of fame...

Someone once said that everyone has their 15 minutes of fame. I had mine tonight. I was on TV. Despite being nervous, it was fun.

You can check out my segment here

BRAVO! clap, clap, clap

It was good to see you and hear you.

I love it when one of us frugal gals makes good.

You did great. Your daughter was cute mugging for the camera at the end of the segment.

Loved the segment! It's so much fun to get freee stuff. When I get extra, I share it with others and the food pantry at church. My friends give me their coupons so I can get multiples.

Since carpal tunnel surgery years ago, I've had to resort to using a straight edge (ruler) to cut my coupons - saves my wrists.

My favorite thing to do is to get in a checkout line with a really young person. They subtotal my order, then I give them my savers card, and they think I'm a good shopper, then I give them the coupons and they can't believe it. I always make a comment about how coupons help. One person at a time - I'm trying to recruit others to save.

Happy couponing!

I saw you on Fox 6 and I love to hear how people save but even though I clip coupons, I never end up saving as much as others I hear about. I usually only end up saving $10-$15 in coupons. I already figure in the sale prices on items before I get to the store. Pick and Save only doubles coupons on Wed and only up to 5. What other stores double? What am I doing wrong? I do some of my shopping at Walmart and the rest at Pick and Save. Please help!

Saw your segment on TV and was interested in learning how to save even more. I haven't found many stores offering double coupons. Only Pick N Save in my Waukesha Cty. area that I know of.

Any other store suggestions for doubling coupons?

I too saw your segment on fox 6 news last night. Amazing! I am ready to learn!!! Like Tammy I do most of my shopping at Pick and Save, Wal-Mart, and Aldi's. I plan my meals around what's on sale. I do buy on sale, and stock up then too. I do cut coupons, and take advantage of double coupon day's. P&S is on Wednesday, but there is a limit of 5 doubled, and a minimum $25. purchase too. I have gotten things for free, or really cheap before, but I have never saved as much as you have. I would be extremely grateful if you, or anyone else is willing to help me figure this out. I live in Germantown, so if anyone knows of someplace in my area to shop please let me know. Thank you and God Bless!

Welcome Corey, I hope you can learn from my blog. Sign up as a "watcher".

JBcouponqueen, I also give to food pantries and animal shelters. I can't always give money, but I have my free items from my stockpile and that really helps!

Tammy, ready my blog, keep learning. It's a slow process. My son is going to be 6 years old, and I have been doing this for that many years and more. Read my couponing methods and my binder methods.

Many Stores don't double. I have one that does. But I don't do all my shopping there. When you read my couponing methods post, you will see I try to think outside the box. I get milk in bags and freeze it. I buy things where I find them the cheapest.

Donna, I encourage you also to check my blog, check the other sites I listed on Fox 6 ( such as hot coupon world). At first, the site can be OVERWHELMING, but take it bit by bit. Keep reading my blog, learn from me and others. I typically save 65% to 70% when I shop at a coupon food store. I also may make a trip to ALDI's for basics.

Penny,
Keep reading my blog. Also start reading Hot coupon world.
I will continue to list freebies, good deals and finds as often as I can!
I do double coupon at one store in my area, but I also do alot of purchases at Walgreens or Walmart.
