Today's Notes

First of all, it's the last day of the month, so time to clean up those files and binders!!

Second, if you signed up for Herbal Essences Free Shampoo deal on facebook, keep your eyes open! I got my Free Bottle Coupon today!

So, today my kids are trick or treating, I had surgery yesterday so I couldn't go, but I am sitting here at my front door, giving out candy and cleaning out my coupon binder.

I have a question for you all and if you are a lurker, this is when I really, really need you to leave a comment. I have been asked to teach a class on my couponing, shopping, freebies and stockpiling. If you were to meet me face to face, where I could show you what I do, what would you want to ask? I have 2months to get ready. The classes are in January...so please speak up and tell me what you would want to learn!!!!

Thanks! and stay frugal!!!

I would want to know how people get stuff totally FREE. That would encompass CVS Extra Bucks, using coupons on small or trial sizes, combining store and manufacturer's coupons at Target.

Something that would have been helpful had I known it earlier was the idea of printing out a store's coupons policy. Or calling their customer service line from directly in the store when given a hard time over coupons. It used to drive me insane that I knew more about using coupons in a store than the employees did. I haven't had a problem since I've learned to handle it, of course. Oh well.

I really want to be better at finding deals and I come to you to see how you do it. I feel like I have to start off with a lot of money. To start to stock up on walmart rewards, target cards, andswagbucks, and whatever else. I have six hundred dollars a month to spend i can never seem to save any at the end of the month for fun stuff like candles, gifts, or what have yous. We have six people in our family. I'm not sure I'm asking the right question for you. If I can think of a better way of saying how I feel about it all I write again.

Hi Angie,
My church just asked me the same thing yesterday. I am so nervous. Idk what to do. I don't feel like I have been doing this long enough to teach someone else. I know what I am doing, but I really struggle with time management. I spend a lot of time on this. I will go through my sales ads write down what I would like to buy, and what I think I have coupons for. I then check other sites for deals that they have listed. I go through every single one of my coupons just about every week. I can not remember what I all have. I have them all broke down into separate categories, and organized very well, but I still have to go through them all. Once I am done with all of this then I make out my lists to figure out where it would be best to dbl coupons, what the price of the item will be after coupons, etc... I need someone to teach me how to better manage my time!!!

Anyway, on to YOUR question. It can be really hard to teach someone else, because everybody is so different. Depending on the amt. of time they have, if they are an organized person (if not forget it), etc... The easiest thing is to show the combining of store offers with manufacturer offers. I would have an ad there, some coupons that match up with that ad, and a list of what to buy. Show the total price of the list B4 coupons, and then the price after coupons. Do this with several ads. Bring your binder for them to see too.

Hey Penny! Maybe you and I could do it together!!! THEN I would finally meet you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:) YOu do have to be honest and admit it does take time, especially in the begining! With a good file or binder system, you should be able to locate coupons quickly.

Also, you can tell them that once you have a full stockpile, you can cherry pick which deals you really want to do!!!

Good Luck if you decide what to teach a class!!

My church is actually in the process of building a new church, so they do not want me to start anything until after the holidays (good). They did want to put something in the church newsletter about it, though. So I will be writing a small piece for that. We are trying to show people that it is really simple things that everyone can do to help others. Even if you don't have a lot of money.

As far as meeting you. I would still really like to. idk about being a part of a class with you, though. You are kind of far away from me. We should set something meet in person. When, though!?! Schedule is crazy, hectic!!! idk it will happen eventually.

Good luck! :)

I would/do want to know where/how you started. I'm sure you touch on this here somewhere I just haven't gotten that far yet. I'm new to your blog and so far I love it! I am a sahm and new to the world of real couponing. I've always used coupons, but to the extent that they are able to be used. I would tell people not to be afraid to call their store and ask a slew a questions from their coupon policy to double coupon days and anything else. I know that Pick N Save doubles on Weds, but I have not ever had the courage to do multiple orders. :) I think store and coupon lingo would be great. That's always helpful to see on sites. I would tell people that there isn't one way to do this. I keep looking for the allknowing how to and everyone is different and each person will like doing it there own way. Even if it starts out how someone else is doing it. I think you should give and say everything you are already doing. You seem to be doing a great job. Just be the relatable person you are. People appreciate knowing where you came from is just like them. Don't be nervous.
