Walgreens shopping trip....saved 55%

With prices going UP and me needing a few things, my goal is to save 50% in my non grocery shopping trips. I had to get packaging tape and my husband wanted coffee, so, off to Walgreens I went.
Walgreens had Gevalia Coffee for $8.99 with a $1.00 IVC. I had a manufacture coupon for BOGO.
So, 2 Gevalia  Coffees is $17.98, then subtract 2 $1.00 IVC's, then my BOGO coupons ( which had a limit of $6.98) equals $9.00 for 2 bags!  I also picked up Burts Bee's ( My favorite!) Acne Solution. It's normally $16.99, on clearance for $8.00, and I used a $2.00 coupon. LINK - $2.00 off Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solution . So, I paid $6.00!!!
I also picked up Scotch Shipping Tape. I use for my ebay mailing. It's was $3.79 and get one Free. Then I had a .50 cent off coupon. So, I got 2 for $3.29. Then I picked up Starburst/ Skittles Large Size candies. One sale for $1.00 each and I had a .50 cents off coupon. So I paid .75 cents. I will save these for when we go to Grandma's next week!  I also picked up on clearance a Pizza Cutter and Ice Cream Scoop. Our family has been looking to replace our broken Ice Cream Scoop and add an additional pizza cutter to our kitchen! Both we on clearance for $1.99.
I also did a transaction with the Reach Toothbrush. The Reach Toothbrush is $2.99, I had a $1.00 coupon. LINK - $1.00 off 1 LISTERINE Kids Rinse or 1 REACH Kids Toothbrush So, you pay $2.10 and you get a $1.00 RR back which I applied to the other transaction. We have toothbrushes in stockpile, but my daughter wanted a Barbie Toothbrush and she we made a deal. If she did a project I asked her to do, I would get her the toothbrush. :) It worked.

So, I spent $34.90 between the two transactions and saved $40.52 between the 2 transactions.

As you can see, not all shopping trips are like the "Extreme Couponing" TV show. Sometimes you have to buy things that your home needs. The packaging tape, coffee and the pizza cutter were all on my list. I am happy to just save the 55% and get them for the best price possible. Please also note, that prices vary from different  regions of the country. So, your Walgreens may not have the clearance that my Walgreens had.
