Gas Prices!

I can't believe gas prices! It just keeps going up! For those who do not know me, I work during the school year and have the summer off to be with my children. I heard on the news yesterday that gas prices will be up to $4.00 by summer!!! I am wondering if I can find a part time job this summer to help with expenses because I don't think we will make it through the summer without my income.

So, I am now looking at ways I can cut down on my trips. I have to go to work. And I already do most of my errands on the way home from work, as to NOT make any extra trips. In the summer, we walk to the bank, the post office and the library. I am thinking that this summer, I will also have to walk ( or bike)  to the other side of town for the grocery store and other things. I am using Gas Buddy. http://gasbuddy.com/
Has this gas increase changed your budget? What are you doing to cut down on travel?

I am also looking for ways to cut my expenses. We have done so much! We don't have cable, satilite or cells phone plans. We use Magic Jack for all long distance. I can't cut much more out of my budget! In the summer we hand ALL laundry. Go to the free swimming hole ( which we will go to less because of the cost of gas).

Do you, my wonderful readers, have any ideas that you have used that have helped? PLEASE SHARE!

I think you have pretty muched made your life as lean as I can think of. My husband and I both commute to work. We each drive 80 miles per day so the gas prices have us a little nervous for the summer months especially when I have to pay for extra daycare for my school aged child! We will certainly be making cuts! We still have our cell phones and cable, but that is all we have extra! It is such a shame that we will have to cut activities just to get to work! I stayed working just so we could have extras and do more fun things with our kids and now it is turning out to be the opposite. Working to get to work :)
Hang in there!!! You are doing great!

I couldn't agree with you more! It is a shame that with gas prices and either that we have to cut out activities.
